- Two issues holding up the India- Japan Civilian nuclear Deal are data sharing and weapon testing.
- JPN wants IND to give nation specific data over nuclear material like uranium, plutonium and nuclear parts – which accounts for every part of the nuclear chain.
- Second issue - which is redline for India- if IND break its self imposed moratorium on weapon testing , JPN wants immediate cancellation as the civilian nuclear deal.
- JPN & U.S. nuclear firms co-produce nuclear components
- NSG – US, JPN and Australia – who’s nuclear, deal with India – awaiting parliamentary clearance.
- The proposed 9900 MW Jaitapur Nuclear Power project (JNPP) which will be largest power generating station in the world on completion
